Balilongevityretreat — Sustainability — Bali Longevity Retreat…

Sustainability & Community Impact

At Bali Longevity Retreat, our philosophy is rooted in the concept of a long and healthy life. We believe this principle must extend beyond our individual guests to the vibrant community and precious environment of Bali that host us. Regenerative tourism is not just a goal; it is a core operational principle integrated into every aspect of our business. Our commitment is to ensure that our presence enriches Bali’s natural and cultural ecosystems for generations to come. Bali tourism portal

Environmental Stewardship

We are dedicated to minimizing our ecological footprint and actively contributing to the conservation of Bali’s unique environment.

  • Carbon Neutral Operations: We take full responsibility for our carbon emissions. We meticulously track and offset 100% of the carbon footprint for our operations and all guest travel, including international flights. We do this by investing in high-quality, Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) certified reforestation projects in Indonesia, such as those protecting critical orangutan habitats in Kalimantan.
  • Zero Single-Use Plastics: We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for single-use plastics. Guests are provided with reusable glass water bottles, and all amenities in our partner villas are in refillable, non-plastic containers. Our supply chain is audited to ensure compliance.
  • Water Conservation: In partnership with our host properties, we implement advanced water-saving measures, including rainwater harvesting for irrigation and greywater recycling systems, which are critical on an island with finite freshwater resources.
  • Marine Conservation Partnership: We are a proud corporate sponsor of the Coral Triangle Center in Sanur. A percentage of the revenue from every retreat is donated to fund their vital work in marine conservation, coral reef restoration, and local community education.

Community Empowerment & Cultural Preservation

Our success is intrinsically linked to the well-being of the Balinese people. We are committed to being a positive force for local economic development and cultural preservation.

  • Prioritizing Local Employment: We are committed to providing high-quality employment opportunities. Over 90% of our staff are Indonesian nationals, with more than 70% being of Balinese origin. All employees receive fair, above-market wages, comprehensive health insurance through BPJS Kesehatan, and social security benefits via BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
  • Supporting Local Economies: We have a ‘local-first’ procurement policy. Over 80% of the food served in our retreats is sourced from local organic farms in regions like Bedugul and Plaga. Guest amenities, from hand-woven robes to ceramicware, are commissioned from local artisans in villages like Tenganan and Celuk, providing sustainable livelihoods and preserving traditional crafts.
  • Direct Community Investment: We partner directly with the local banjar (community council) in our operational area. We contribute to the funding of community-led initiatives, such as the development of a ‘Bank Sampah’ (Waste Bank) to improve recycling rates and provide a source of income, and we sponsor educational scholarships for local children.

Governance & Transparency

Our sustainability commitments are overseen at the highest level by our parent company, Juara Holding Group. We believe in transparency and accountability, and we publish an annual Impact Report detailing our progress against our environmental and social targets. This commitment to ethical operation is a key factor in our partner selection, as outlined in our Methodology. We believe that by investing in the health of the planet and its people, we create a truly holistic and powerful environment for healing and transformation.
